Due Date:  Friday, February 29, 2007       9-weeks test grade

(You may turn in your project prior to this date if you have it completed.)


Objective:  Students will create a magazine that contains a variety of articles based on facts.  The articles will be composed of complex sentences in a variety of ways ranging from compound sentences, sentences with appositives, prepositional phrases, subordinate clauses, introductory phrases, direct & indirect quotes, and others.  The sentences will represent a maturation of the learning from this seventh grade year.


COMPOSITION OF GRADE

contains a minimum of 10 advertisements                          10%

good strong sentences (variety, including quotes)              10%

all articles are referenced beneath each article in italics     10%

1.Each article must be based on factual information.

2.You are also allowed to interview people.  (must use quotes)

3.The article must contain good strong sentences.

4.The article should be descriptive but remaining on the subject.

5.Each article must be titled and states the person who wrote it below the title.  (example    The Good Fruit by Limbo Tree)

6.You may receive up to five articles from contributing writers (fellow students).  Their names must be under their articles as stated above.

7.You must have good punctuation.

8.Have at least 3 articles that contain direct quotes resulting from interviews.

9.The articles must be typed.  (I will try to give you an opportunity each week to type in the classroom.  You may also type your articles at home, the library, or the computer lab if allowed.)

10.All editing learned this year will be applied to your project.
