Dexter Middle School
Sixth Grade Discipline
Plan
At Dexter Middle School, creating an environment conducive to learning
is a top priority for our faculty and staff. We expect each
student to exhibit proper behavior and abide by the established school
rules.
Our school
rules are as follows:
1. Students will show respect for others and their possessions.
2. Students will follow directions the first time given.
3. Students will keep hands, feet, and other objects to themselves.
4. Students will stay in their seats and talk only with permission.
5. Students will not eat, drink, or chew gum in class.
6. Students will not prevent the teacher from teaching or
other students from learning.
Rewards
Students who behave appropriately will be supported with praise, notes
home, treats, and other privileges.

Severity Clause
Severe misbehavior may result in an immediate office referral as well
as an automatic U in conduct. Misbehavior for a substitute will
result in an automatic detention and/or office referral. This
will not be tolerated.
Homeroom Conduct
Homeroom conduct will be determined by the number of conduct marks in
all classes combined for that nine weeks. Therefore, it would be
possible for a student to have an S in all subjects and a U for the
overall homeroom conduct. Homeroom conduct WILL affect your
child’s placement on the Honor Roll.
Detention
Detention for the sixth grade will be held on Wednesday mornings from
7:00-7:45am. Students MUST be on time. Students arriving
after 7:05am will be required to serve another detention.
Students missing detention will serve ISS.
